Excerpt: Knit a Box of Socks: 24 sock knitting patterns for your dream box of socks (by (author) Julie Anne Lebouthillier)

For as long as I can remember sock knitting has been a passion of mine. The first project I ever decided to knit was an aran (worsted) weight pair of socks for my husband. Now, I have to admit my first pair wasn't as successful as I would have liked, but that's the magic of knitting. Everything can be fixed, you can rip out and try again. Over the years I've made hundreds of pairs of socks, and have been addicted to them ever since. Since that first 'bigfoot' pair of socks – if you can even call them that – I have perfected my sock knitting recipe.

There is something very magical about sock knitting, it not only provides warmth and comfort to your feet but also reflects your unique personality and creativity. There are endless possibilities with your yarn and needles. This book is more than just a compilation of some amazing knitting patterns, it's an invitation to explore the boundless creativity that knitting has to offer. Knitting is more than just a craft, it's a form of self-expression, a way to connect with others and the generations that came before us.

I had the honour to create this book as an inspiration for you to make your own box of socks, whether it will be for you, a loved one or a friend. You'll find this book has patterns for everyone. My hope is that this will spark your imagination and your passion to create all the socks you've always wanted. Grab your knitting needles and that skein of yarn that has been on your shelf for YEARS waiting to become a pair of socks. Yes we all know you have one of those (or 10) and then start turning the pages to start your own box of socks along with me.
